The Shoe took a life of its own

If I say Stan Smith or ask a female what does Stan Smith mean to you ? She will immediately reply by saying  its the limited edition collection Adidas released. The question is who is Stan Smith?!! Adidas released a shoe in dedication of a famous tennis player nothing more and nothing less.

Fashion and trends are more powerful than the brand itself sometimes. Its sad how people don't stop and think of what they are buying and wearing anymore. As a person who is very interested in fashion I always research my purchases, just for the sake of understanding the trend instead of just following it without purpose.

Dont misunderstand me, I love the shoes! They are so comfortable, I own a pair. The point of this

post was to explore the concept of the shoe and why was it launched.

My Trip to the V&A for Alexander Mcqueen Exhibition

Being a person interested in fashion

and studying branding at the moment made

me keen to attend Mcqueen's exhibition

in Victoria & Albert.

The exhibition was beautifully designed and the pieces were exquisite. What interested me the most in the exhibition is the display of concept. 

How each room had a concept and a tone of voice to the public.

Alexander had a story for each collection he made he might not have satisfied alot of peoples' tastes in fashion but his stories and perspectives were memorable that is why his brand is considered one of the best.

Because of his strong image and brand stories, they made sure to put the effort to reflect how his talents and smart skills in promoting himself are well introduced to the public in this exhibition.

Advertising is everything as I have mentioned that I'm doing my masters in branding at the moment. I'm going through a couple of techniques to promote brands and engage my audience.

Kate Spade is a very well known brand, It always had its own style. When we mostly hear Kate Spade I remember a pink spade or classic but cute styles. To spice up their summer campaign they add extra effort by exposing themselves in different ways through media channels they went a step further by creating short films to display their summer items and engage the audience to feel that they can purchase a life time item instead of seeing it on a model.

I have to also mention Im inlove with the flamingo items <3.

I like how they also chosen a very natural, clumsy but nice face for their campaigns to show the fact they suit all kinds of girls.

Its been ages since the last time I blogged, too busy with my Masters never though there would not be anytime to do progress other than doing school work.

I have been working on my illustration and drawing skills and read more about fashion and discovered new brands maybe Ill get to tell you about it later.

As for illustration, I have this classmate that really inspires me with her technique in illustration. She was never an illustration but she decided its her passion so she went ahead and did her masters in illustration to develop her talents and she is really talented. Im introducing new technique and material in my drawings to experiment to which extend I can reach and whats suits Bamba & Banafsaje more for any further development at the end of the day it is all about them .

She really drew my attention to Oliver Jeffers

His technique is quite amazing, pure and in a way abstract. These are a couple of his children's books

this is also a website where he kind of advertises his books by illustration animated pages which is quite breath taking and smart.
